Terres de Café in Paris

Isn’t it wonderful when you stumble on something new and good by accident? Especially at the precise moment you ask for it?

Walking on a very chilly Tuesday morning down Rue Rambuteau, I was muttering to myself how annoying it is that one of my favorite cafes that I passed doesn’t open before 10:00 (which is the case to most cafes and places in Paris) and I almost shouted loudly in the street “I need coffee” ! When I suddenly look up and see a strange sign of three monkeys. I look to my right and guess what I see? A café ! I smile and go in.

Tiny, cozy and trendy. These three words sprang to mind as I ordered my coffee and looked around.

I talked to the barista and asked about the three monkeys, the logo for Terres de Café. The café symbolizes the strong friendship bond over coffee. That’s how I would like to summarize her explanation. The three wise monkeys, that we all know  “See no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil” Right?  Well Terres de Café changed this slightly to represent something we all can identify with …. Cup of coffee being shared with friends. These friends will keep the secrets that you share over your coffee break and will not let any “evil” enter your circle. Therefore your friendship bond is kept at Terres de Café ! It provides you with the warm inviting environment and serves you excellent coffee.

So I don’t know if my nose or feet for coffee lead me here but am happy to have discovered it. I love discovering new places in Paris especially ones where food and coffee is served.

The more I learnt about Terres de Café the more interested I was. They are ethical coffee and tea specialist. They source and work with coffee farmers across the globe supporting the production and fermentation of speciality coffee.  Apart from serving coffee and tea, they also sell coffee for you to make at home along with coffee machines and capsules.  Their main boutique is located in the 4th arrondissement of paris. Which I passed the other day, I found the hanging chairs rather fun to try next time I pass by !

There are 5, yes 5 small cafes of Terres de Café, so you can’t miss them in Paris ! The one I visited is in Rue Rambuteau.  Check out their website and Instagram for more info.
