Sitting high up on the 18tharrondissement of Paris on the hilly neighbourhood of Montmartre, an area known for its art scene and typical Parisian romantic air, you will spot at the corner of Rue Lamarck Soul Kitchen. A wonderful vegetarian family friendly café and restaurant that has been serving scrumptious home cooked meals for 6 years.
The cobbled hilly streets of this historic neighbourhood has so much to offer than the cliché over prices crêpe and fancy 5 minute portrait artists waiting to catch tourist. Beside the Basilica of Sacre-Coure (scared heart) one of my favourite places in Paris, I can recommend you a few cafes that will simple delight you and feed you delicious food. Soul Kitchen sits at the top of that list.
Soul Kitchen. It is all in the name truly… it did nourish my soul and make it happy. This homely bright and very welcoming restaurant serves breakfast, brunch and lunch everyday! Their food is sourced locally and is organic. They have a rotating menu and their ingredients are in season. They are so creative with their vegan and vegetarian dishes that you will end up finishing your plate with full satisfaction. I can guarantee.
I came to Soul Kitchen for brunch and lunch a few times and absolutely love their vibe. As soon as you walk in you see the unpretentious, honest, loving decor and then your nostrils are ticked with the smell of tasty cooking. You are then are seated (if there is not a long queue , which sometime you find doing lunch time rush hour) on vibrant and comfortable seats that easy you in to the relaxed Soul Kitchen vibe. Excitement comes as you decide what to order from the fully colourful chalk bard, you know you will be served a beautiful meal.
Their coffee and drinks are superb too. All kinds of hot an cold beverages and fresh juices are made onsite.
Their staff are so helpful and speak English and their smile never falls off! They can recommend and explain what is on the menue that day and can even wrap your meal for a take away.
I highly recommend coming here anytime of the day and season. And now I feel like going more so in the winter because you all know and crave that feeling … you know what i am talking about…. stepping into warmth and comfort from the bitter cold and being served a delicious hot creamy vegetable soup with a big slice of wholemeal country farm bread. Can you feel it … do you recognise that feeling ? Well you can get it at Soul Kitchen….
So head up high, high up the hills of Paris to Soul Kitchen and have a truly homely food. Then you can thank me as you Instagram your moment there.
